The Gold Rush

                                    The Gold Rush

In 1861 Gold was discovered near the Tuapeka River, thousands of people raced to center Otago. People from different towns moved to remote spots where people never lived. They all shared the same hope, to get rich. The Otago Goldrush began with Gabrial Read. Gabrial read was a experienced gold miner.

One day Gabrial spotted gold in his gold pan, he then said "shining like the stars in Orion on a dark frosty night". The greek then was maned as Gabriels Gully. By Christmas 1861 there were more than 10 thousand protesters in Gabrial gully. Miners had to follow a rough road to get to Gabriel's gully. Once they had to live in tents some lived in shanks, miners even lived in caves.

Discrimination is when someone is treated unfairly or being judge by their characters, the color of their skin, their age, their religion, and things

I think a gold rush is when gold is found in a new spit where no one has looked before. I also think discrimination is when someone is being racist.
